For the Board of County Commissioners Meeting of January 4, 2022

Open the meeting at 9:30 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

1. The Commissioners’ Office will report on the items approved December 29, 2021 by the County Administrator, authorized by Resolution #21-003 under the direction and supervision of the County Commissioners that was approved January 5, 2021, pursuant to O.R.C. 305.30.
2. The Commissioners’ Office will report on financials from December 30, 2021, Resolution #21-176 as approved by the County Administrator pursuant to Resolution #21-003, approved January 5, 2021 to authorize the County Administrator to execute, in the case of a lack of quorum of Commissioners and / or if session is cancelled on a regular financial day or on a day when financials need to be approved, the required approvals for county financials on behalf of the Board during the Year 2021, as authorized by O.R.C. 305.30.
3. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve the encumbrances to be considered by the Board of Commissioners to be effective January 1, 2022.
4. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #22-001 itemizing the financials for the meeting of January 4, 2022.
5. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board establish the gas mileage reimbursement at the current Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rate of $0.585, to be effective January 1, 2022 for the departments under the direction of the Geauga County Board of Commissioners.
6. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #22-002 Authorizing the County Engineer to undertake Projects using Force Account in certain cases for Year 2022.
7. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #22-003 to Improve Various Sections of County Roads by Applying Pavement Markings, Year 2022.
8. The Department of Development (Building) is requesting the Board grant permission to advertise for Statement of Qualifications for Master Plan Examiner Services with Responses due on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. Notice of this request for Statement of Qualifications will be advertised on January 13, 2022, January 20, 2022 and on the County website.
9. The Department of Water Resources is requesting the Board approve and execute the service Contract Agreement with BAMF Welding and Fabricating LLC to perform welding and fabricating services at various Water District locations within the department for the Year 2022 in an amount not to exceed $10,000.00.
10. The Department of Water Resources is requesting the Board approve and execute the service Contract Agreement with Yarnell Tree Company to perform tree removal services at various wastewater locations, including after storm damage for the Year 2022 in an amount not to exceed $1,500.00.
11. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board close the Geauga County Office, under the hiring authority of the Board of Commissioners, on Friday, November 25, 2022 in light of the Thanksgiving Holiday, as paid time off for regular scheduled employees up to eight hours (non-active work status time). Twenty-four-hour operations will continue to operate as normal. Further, those employees required to work on November 25, 2022 will be entitled to overtime pay in addition to their regular pay for actual hours worked.
12. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve the regular meeting schedule for 2022 with adjustments made around holidays.
13. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board re-appoint Laura Jansen to serve on the Board of Developmental Disabilities for a four-year term ending December 31, 2025.
14. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board re-appoint the following members to serve on the Family Services Planning Committee for a one-year term, effective January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022: Kimberly Carter, Teri Malnar, Jessica Boalt, Gerry Morgan, Vicki Clark, Andrea Pollock, Jennifer Felker, Julie Gorenc, Angela Spalsbury and Scott Hildenbrand.
15. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board appoint Timothy Kehres to serve on the Family Services Planning Commission for a one-year term, effective January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
16. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board appoint / re-appoint ________________ to serve on the Planning Commission for a three-year term, January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024.
    (Expired Seats December 31, 2021 – Charles Stevens, Chester Miller and Skip Claypool)
17. The Board will conduct its Annual Organizational meeting.

1. A weekly report filed by the County Dog Warden of all dogs seized, impounded, redeemed or destroyed for the week ending December 22, 2021 as required by O.R.C. 955.12.
