For the Board of County Commissioners Meeting of December 14, 2021

Open the meeting at 9:30 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

  1. The Commissioners’ Office will report on the items approved December 7, 2021 and December 10, 2021 by the County Administrator, authorized by Resolution #21-003 under the direction and supervision of the County Commissioners that was approved January 5, 2021, pursuant to O.R.C. 305.30.
  2. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #21-167 itemizing the financials for the meeting of December 14, 2021.
  3. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Change Order #1, Final decreasing the Contract with Ronyak Paving, Incorporated for the Asphalt Resurfacing of Butternut Road (CH-0021, Sections D-E) in Munson and Newbury Townships in the amount of $1,128.80.
  4. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and authorize Timothy C. Lennon, member and Chief Executive Officer to execute the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC), Appendix E – Disbursement Request Form and Certification No. 1 and Final, in order to release funds from the state portion of our OPWC grant for the Auburn Road Resurfacing project in Newbury Township in the amount of $172,152.87.
  5. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and authorize Timothy C. Lennon, member and Chief Executive Officer to execute the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC), Appendix E – Disbursement Request Form and Certification No. 2 and Final, in order to release funds from the state portion of our OPWC grant for Taylor Wells Road Bridge Replacement in Claridon Township in the amount of $2,778.75.
  6. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #21-168 appointing Board Member, Timothy C. Lennon, as the Chief Executive Officer and Certifying Representative for the proposed Farmington Road Bridge Replacement (Structure #0018-01.96) in Parkman Township and further approve and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the State of Ohio Public Works Commission application for financial assistance.
  7. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #21-169 appointing Board Member, Timothy C. Lennon, as the Chief Executive Officer and Certifying Representative for the proposed Auburn Road Resurfacing (CH 0004, Sections N-O) in Munson Township and further approve and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the State of Ohio Public Works Commission application for financial assistance.
  8. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #21-170 appointing Board Member, Timothy C. Lennon, as the Chief Executive Officer and Certifying Representative for the proposed Munn Road Resurfacing (CH 0032, Sections A-C) in Auburn Township and further approve and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the State of Ohio Public Works Commission application for financial assistance.
  9. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #21-171 appointing Board Member, Timothy C. Lennon, as the Chief Executive Officer and Certifying Representative for the proposed Fairmount Road Resurfacing (CH 0016, Sections A-B) in Russell Township and further approve and authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the State of Ohio Public Works Commission application for financial assistance.
  10. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #21-172 to Order the Replacement of the Wilson Mills Road Bridge (Structure #0008-04.690) in Chester Township.
    This resolution also requests the Board approve and execute the Cover Sheet of the Plans for the same.
    Further, this resolution sets a Bid Opening on January 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Notice of this Bid Opening will be advertised on December 16, 2021 and on the county website.
  11. The Department on Aging is requesting the Board approve and authorize the President of the Board to execute the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging Contract with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the Older Americans Act / Senior Community Services programs for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 in the amount of $348,000.00 (Supportive Services IIIB $115,000.00, Transportation IIIB $90,000.00, Transportation IIIE $120,000.00, Matter of Balance IIID $15,000.00 and Diabetes Self- Management IIID $8,000.00).
  12. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and authorize the President of the Board to execute the Addendum to Payment Processing Agreement with Gila LLC d.b.a. Municipal Services Bureau (MSB) to provide Credit Card Payment Processing for Expenses Owed and Donations made to Departments under the Commissioner’s Hiring Authority by extending the contract by one additional year from December 14, 2021 up to and including December 14, 2022, with all terms and provisions of the Agreement remain in full force and effect, except as specifically modified herein.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

  • A weekly report filed by the County Dog Warden of all dogs seized, impounded, redeemed or destroyed for the weeks ending November 24, 2021 and December 1, 2021 as required by O.R.C. 955.12.
  • A monthly report filed by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office of an account of expenses for the Prisoner Transport for the month ending November, 2021 as required by O.R.C. 325.07.
