For the Board of County Commissioners Meeting of January 11, 2022

Open the meeting at 9:30 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

  1. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #22-005 itemizing the financials for the meeting of January 11, 2022.
  2. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board request the County Auditor distribute the balance in the Domestic Violence Fund (2070) to Womensafe, the local agency designated by the Commissioners to receive such monies. This allocation is to be paid pursuant to Section 3113.34 of the O.R.C. for the 2021 year, in the amount of $12,796.97.
  3. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and execute the Ohio Department of Transportation, Office of Technical Services 2021 County Highway System Mileage Certification for 234.757 miles of public roads.
  4. The County Engineer’s Office is requesting the Board approve and authorize Timothy C. Lennon, Board member and Chief Executive Officer to execute the Ohio Public Works Commission Appendix E – Disbursement Request Form and Certification #2, Final in order to release funds from the state portion of our OPWC grant for the Butternut Road Resurfacing (Sections D-E) in Munson and Newbury Townships in the amount of $52,128.08.
  5. The Department on Aging is requesting the Board approve and authorize the President of the Board to execute the Legal Services Agreement with Patricia J. Schraff, Esq of Schraff Thomas LLC for legal services that include counsel, advise and representation of clients that are Geauga County residents age 60 and over for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023 in the amount of $125.00 per hour ($101.03 paid by the Department on Aging and $23.97 per hour paid by the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging) for up to seven hundred and ninety-eight (798) hours per year.
  6. The Department of Emergency Services is requesting the Board approve and authorize the President of the Board to execute the Application for Authorization to Permit the Use of County Credit Cards, O.R.C. 301.27, for the Year 2022 for a PNC Giant Eagle card and Geauga Credit Union Visa in an amount not to exceed $1,000.00 per month per card for Roger Peterson, Judith Oberstar, Thomas Vencl and Michael Rice.
  7. The Transit Department is requesting the Board approve and authorize the President of the Board to execute the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Section 5311 Rural Transit Program CY2022 Grant Program Year Subaward Grant Agreement (#OH-2020-005) in the amount of $801,001.00, Federal Funds for Operating Expenses in the amount of $610,839.00 and Federal Funds for Capitalized Maintenance Expenses in the amount of $190,162.00 for the grant period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 and further authorize the Transit Director to electronically submit the Agreement to ODOT.
  8. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #22-006 to Designate the Official Representative and Alternate for the purpose of voting at meetings of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) in 2022.
  9. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and authorize the President of the Board to execute Partial Payment Request #14 for Donley’s Independence LLC for the new County Office Building, GMP #1 and #2 in the amount of $1,535,293.97.
  10. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board appoint Kenneth C. Burnett, Burton Township Trustee as Alternate for James W. Dvorak on the Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste Management District Policy Committee for 2022.

  1. The Monthly Financial Report from the County Building Department for the month of December, 2021.
  2. A weekly report filed by the County Dog Warden of all dogs seized, impounded, redeemed or destroyed for the weeks ending December 29, 2021 and January 5, 2022 as required by O.R.C. 955.12.
  3. A monthly report filed by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office of an account of expenses for the Inmate meals for the month ending December, 2021.
  4. A monthly report filed by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office of an account of expenses for the Prisoner Transport for the month ending December, 2021 as required by O.R.C. 325.07.
  5. Ohio Department of Agriculture, Office of Farmland Preservation, 2021 Annual Monitoring Reports for the Binnig, Anna and O’Reilly properties
